Michelle Leonard

Michelle Leonard is a British singer, multiplatinum songwriter, artist developer, lecturer, and publisher who grew up in Germany and is now based in Berlin. She has been active in the music industry since the age of 16, co-writing & releasing songs with artists such as Nico Santos, Robin Schulz, Punchbag, Alice Merton, Red Moon, Sigrid, Jacob Collier, Tarja Turunen, Generations (J-Pop), Darryl Jones (Rolling Stones), Guy Sebastian and more. Michelle has collaborated extensively with AURORA, one of the most celebrated and distinctive artists in contemporary music.

Her songs have been featured in international TV series (Blacklist, Adolescence, Hanna, The 100, Reign, Teen Wolf, Riverdale), films (Wolfwalkers, Zweiohrküken, Rubinrot, Hotdog), and advertising campaigns for Unicef, C&A, AXE, JEEP, Renault Zoe, Rolex, and Ford KA.

Since 2004, she has lectured in songwriting at the Popakademie (University of Popular Music and Music Business) and has led workshops at Columbia College Chicago and SRH Berlin. Michelle regularly speaks on panels, including the EU Parliament (2019) and global music industry events, and conducts workshops worldwide.

She is a board member at GEMA, representing composers, and was a long-standing juror at Initiative Musik

In 2011, Michelle co-founded the publishing company DOLSIRA with Universal Music Publishing Germany, dedicated to supporting and developing female talent. DOLSIRA co-published the hit “Unter meiner Haut” by Elif, later reinterpreted by Gestört aber GeiL, and helped launch careers like Alina’s, who co-wrote for Helene Fischer.

In 2018, she founded the edition EERA with BMG Rights Management, signing artists like Venior, Eden Bleak, and Dillistone, who contributed to releases by Nina Chuba.

In 2015, Michelle launched her feature project Solamay, achieving platinum status (Alex Mattson, Robin Schulz). She later focused on her solo project The Leonard, with the debut Kill the Fire featured on Robin Schulz’s album IIII (2021).

Michelle continues to concentrate on songwriting and artist development, working across indie, singer-songwriter, Scandi-pop, edgy pop/rock, electro, and dance-pop.
